The DZOFilm X-Tract 18-28mm T8 FF Macro is an evolution of probe optics, offering a fundamentally different approach to macro photography. Unlike the traditional Laowa Probe solution, this lens combines unique features: variable focal length with an extended viewing angle and impressive T8 aperture, which is especially noticeable when compared with the competitor's f/14.
DZOFilm engineers have achieved impressive results in suppressing optical distortion — chromatic aberration is minimized here, as well as unwanted glare, vignetting and the effect of breathing. The color rendition retains its naturalness, which is rare for such specialized optics.
The parfocal design ensures a stable image even in the most difficult shooting conditions. The lens opens up new creative horizons thanks to its record—low focusing distance - just 6 mm from the front lens versus 20 mm for Laowa, allowing you to capture details that are inaccessible to other probe solutions.
